Information connected to Work and Work Visa - Resident Card for Schengen & Norway

You don't need any Visa for Norway, but you need to have a work permit for long term work. The best idea is to go to Norway, if you have a work offer. Then meet your potensial employer and sign up a work contract inside Norway. Almost every employer would like to have a trial periode with the employee before any commitment to a long terme work contract. Trial Periode is normally 1-3 months.
You are a citizen from outside EU / Norway / Schengen Area. You need a Visa for travelling to Norway. Choose Visa type that i matching your needs.
You are in Europe on a Tourist Visa. You can normally stay for 90 days or you can change or upgrade your Visa Status whenever you want as long as your Visa is valid and not expired. As a rule you can only change your Visa type inside Norway as long as you are a holder of a Bachelor Degree or some other Skilles that is needed and connected to the Work Contract or the Visa you are offered. You are then allowed to stay legal in Norway and wait for the decision from UDI Immigration.
You are in Europe holding an Au Pair Visa. You can stay for 2 years in Norway and you can change Host Family whenever you want or you can upgrade or change your Visa Status for example to a normal Work Visa, as long as your Visa is valid and not expired. As a rule you can only change your Visa type inside Norway as long as you are a holder of a Bachelor Degree or some other Skilles that is needed and connected to the Work Contract or the Visa you are offered. You are then allowed to continue stay legal in Norway and wait for the decision from UDI Immigration. If No Education or Skills at all, you need to apply from the Norwegian Embassy in the country you are living in.
You are in Norway holding a Au Pair Visa. You can stay for 2 years in Norway and you can change Host Family whenever you want or you can upgrade or change your Visa Status for example to a normal Work Visa, as long as your Visa is valid and not expired. As a rule you can only change your Visa type inside Norway as long as you are a holder of a Bachelor Degree or some other Skilles that is needed and connected to the Work Contract or the Visa you are offered. You are then allowed to continue stay legal in Norway and wait for the decision from UDI Immigration.
You are in Europe holding a Work Visa. You can if you go to Norway get new Work visa for 2 years + Auto Renew for 2 more years in Norway as long as your Visa is valid and not expired. As a rule you can only change or upgrade your Visa type inside Norway as long as you are a holder of a Bachelor Degree or some other Skilles that is needed and connected to the Work Contract or the Visa you are offered. You are then allowed to stay legal in Norway and wait for the decision from UDI Immigration. Totally 4 years will give you a Permanent Resident Card for Norway.
You are a student in Europe or in Norway holding a Student Visa. You can normally stay in Norway for 1 year and renew depending on the school and your student level. As a rule you can only change or upgrade your Visa type inside Norway as long as you are a holder of a Bachelor Degree or some other Skilles that is needed and connected to the Work Contract or the Visa you are offered. You are then allowed to stay legal in Norway and wait for the decision from UDI Immigration.
